Thessaloniki 2014 in street mode
September 19, 2013 - EYC
More than 3,500 people attended the event, one of the biggest open-air festivals in Greece concerning youth and street culture in 2013, completed with great success. Visitors enjoyed a free program with continuous action, including demonstrations, competitions, graffiti, street dancing and parkour by leading Greek artists and athletes in the square area, which was created specifically for this event. In the afternoon, breakdance contests gripped the audience.
DJ sets and parallel activities also took place during the day, but the program reached its peak late at night with live music from representative bands of street culture. The square overflowed with people who wanted to experience concerts by their favourite artists.
By taking advantage of Thessaloniki’s pioneering spirit and long-cultivated strengths in diverse areas, Thessaloniki European Youth Capital 2014 has been dedicated to the creation of an attractive, youthful city. That is being achieved through the support of various activities happening all over the city and adding color and energy to modern society. Many events will follow in the coming months.
